A week with Big Bass 3in1: three little games, one calm habit
I didn't expect Big Bass 3in1 to stick around on my phone, but here we are a week later and it's still installed. It bundles three fishing minigames, and I ended up with a favourite for different moods — the timing-cast mode when I'm alert, the steady reel one when I just want to zone out.
The controls are the thing I keep coming back to. Casting is a single tap, reeling is a hold-and-release against a tension bar, and the phone buzzes gently when a fish bites. It reads perfectly one-handed, which matters when you're hanging off a tram rail.
There's no clock pushing you and no punishment for putting the phone down mid-cast. Big Bass 3in1 is happy to be a five-minute game, and it never nags you to come back. That restraint is rarer than it should be.
If I have a gripe, it's that the three modes don't unlock much beyond themselves — no deeper progression to chase. But as a small, quiet thing to do between other tasks, it did exactly what I wanted. Sometimes calm is the whole point.
